Ulric sipped some of his wine. He pretended to be interested in the discussion of his neighbor at the table but this social evening bored him terribly. A young woman then asked a question that pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Excuse me dear, are you suggesting we all take a walk after dinner? That's a very good idea, at this hour the countryside is bathed in a soft moonlight that would look lovely on your complexion."
As he was flattered for his romanticism, Ulric smiled. The evening turned out to be more interesting than expected.
